About Us
The Algerian American Community of Northern California (AAC-NC) was established in 2024 to represent and advance the common interests of community members in Northern California who identify with or have an interest in Algerian culture. Initially created with a transitional board, AAC-NC has rapidly organized to engage the local community, appoint permanent leadership, and achieve formal recognition as a non-profit organization.
AAC-NC is dedicated to fostering greater awareness, appreciation, and celebration of Algerian culture, values, traditions, and heritage through educational and social programs. The association is also committed to supporting the personal and professional well-being and prosperity of its members. In pursuit of these goals, AAC-NC actively seeks to strengthen ties with Algeria and build relationships with other communities and organizations sharing similar interests.

Membership in AAC-NC is open to all individuals residing in Northern California interested in supporting and participating in the association’s mission. The community actively encourages member participation, both through membership dues and volunteer engagement, to ensure sustainable growth and impactful programming.
AAC-NC is structured with two primary governing bodies: the Board of Directors, responsible for daily operations and strategic planning, and the Board of Trustees, charged with oversight, long-term sustainability, and accountability. Leadership positions, including the President, Board of Directors, and Board of Trustees, are elected by AAC-NC’s voting membership.
AAC-NC operates as an independent, non-religious, and apolitical organization. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, AAC-NC adheres strictly to regulatory compliance, ethical conduct, and transparent governance practices.
The members of the AAC-NC Board of Directors and Board of Trustees serve voluntarily in their individual capacities, ensuring the integrity, effectiveness, and continued advancement of the association’s goals. Any references to employers or external affiliations in their biographies are provided solely for informational purposes and do not imply affiliation between these entities and AAC-NC.
